Courses Taught
- Tenets of Forestry (FOR 201)
Research Interests
The development and incorporation of tissue culture and molecular genetics techniques into breeding systems, including biochemical factors that affect root morphogenesis in conifers and restriction analysis of organelle DNA in Picea to study inheritance and population structure.
Programs and Grants
- Genetic structure and adaptation of natural populations of spruce (USDA Competitive Grants Program for Forest and Rangeland Renewable Resources).
- Isolation of decay resistance genes from black locust (USDA Eastern Hardwoods Utilization Program).
- Enhancing public awareness and practice of forest stewardship in Michigan (State of Michigan's Forest Stewardship Program).
